Need Advice on traveling to Patong and Pattaya?

The plan's first 7-day trip to Thailand with my single friends and we want to visit both Patong and Pattaya. I want to know what part of travel first Patong, Patong and Pattaya or after? Also, I know good hotels for singles are going to do Mrs. guest for the night.
