What can I do / see on the trip for two to three days in Bangkok / Thailand?

I'm going to Thailand next business month. It will be busy by a 4-day conference and has 2 max 3 (if I like it) after seeing parts to Thailand. The problem is that I know nothing about this country, unless their beautiful people very nice … Tourist So, how long do I have to Bangkok (where I stay for the duration of the conference)? What are the places a must? Should I go the book I can not waste time wandering around with a map? Is it possible or convenient to travel elsewhere in Thailand, given the tight schedule? Again, it is advisable to book a visit, Travel trust? I welcome any response or comment … So thank these bike tours? (http://www.bangkokbikerides.com/daytrips/floatingmarket/), which is worth the time and money?

Lucky you! With so little time, I can say there are many in Bangkok itself is absolutely amazing and exotic, one of the cities of the world, and there is plenty of history, art, shopping and dining (try the mango and sticky rice for dessert). Bangkok is the price, it would be sad if they went to another party without him, so if you can not see in the Bangkok conference, I would stay. It's like going to New York or London, and then enter the country without seeing it! Chiang Mai is certainly a great destination, but really rush to go for a few days and fly lose much of your precious time. Besides the history, architecture and antiques North incredible boats and department stores do not (see for miles and miles), a visit to the hill tribes, and a fleet of elephants are musts. If you go, the Four Seasons is a magnificent property where you are staying in a bungalow about exotic a rice (sounds strange, but really beautiful hotel). This is what I recommend in Bangkok itself: * The Royal Palace, the Temple of Emerald Buddha, Temple of Dawn, Buddha Temple are all lies, big important sites that everyone will take a long time to see. Many of them are in the river and take water taxis (Part of the City mass transit) for an experiment at low prices and exciting. * Visit one of the outdoor markets where you're free one weekend. * Take a cruise on the canals. Some stop at Jim Thompson's house to watch a traditional Thai house (which has begun to export Thai silk). Alternatively, the floating market (there are two) are sufficient tourists, although you can get some great photos. * The Oriental Hotel in Bangkok (my favorite hotel) is sponsoring a formal dinner dance in the river Thai. You should see a show. * You can take a day excursion by boat on the river, the ruins of Ayutthaya, if you are into archeology, it's unbelievable but do not compare to Angkor Wat in Cambodia, if you one day. * The best oriental antiques and crafts are two centers, one in front of the Oriental and the other through a pedestrian bridge near the Royal Orchid Sheraton hotel called River City (the two hotels are right on the River). As an alternative to the tour, if you want to relax on a beach getaway tropical Asia, Phuket has many five star hotels and four on the beautiful beaches and perfect service. The travel agency I use to Thailand and Cambodia Diethelm Travel. The owner is (was?) Switzerland and headquartered in Bangkok, although they have since expanded to many countries. I have the name of years of Lonely Planet Travel Guide There are between and have used many times, are reliable (if slow at times!). You can also get a private guide, unless you want a group trip.
