Thailand to Cambodia to Vietnam?

Im going to Thailand in May, a month and then Im going to Cambodia for a week and Vietnam for a week then Australia for one year, my travel agent said that I do book in Bangkok, after Australia and would be much easier to book my flights to Cambodia and Vietnam internally as I as time permits to return to Bangkok for my flight to Sydney, no one experience or suggestions?
