Have you traveled to Thailand / Phuket recently?

Myself and 2 other friends have plans to travel to Phuket this year and 11 days. None of us have been abroad before, and we wonder about the safety precautions and other information could be useful for 3 girls ranging in Phuket? Or no precautions, good things about Phuket?
